Multiplayer space mystery Among Us hits 1.5 million simultaneous players
https://www.pcgamer.com/multiplayer-space-mystery-among-us-hits-15-million-simultaneous-players/
Among Us is a party game first released in 2018 about a spaceship crew who are just trying to do their mundane jobs—only there are also impostor players sneaking about murdering them and shifting blame onto the innocent. It's like Werewolf in space, yes. Though it didn't set the world on fire at launch, it's recently become a hit with streamers and is currently Twitch's number one game, with 183,000 viewers at the time of writing.
The sudden burst in popularity has caused some server problems for developers Innersloth, a team of three based in Washington. As they tweeted over the weekend, "Among Us servers are filling up again! We're hitting 1.5 million players online at the same time! We're slowly getting the hang of things but please bear with us! We'll get through this."

Godzilla makes its Microsoft Flight Simulator debut with this mod
https://www.pcgamer.com/godzilla-makes-its-microsoft-flight-simulator-debut-with-this-mod/
So far, the bulk of Microsoft Flight Simulator's mods have been sensible things, like new liveries for planes, fixing some of the map's omissions, and introducing the King of the Monsters, Godzilla.
Yes, Godzilla has finally made his Microsoft Flight Sim debut, and it turns out it's on holiday. Don't you know you shouldn't be gallivanting around the world during a plague, Godzilla? Very irresponsible.
Modder Sergio Perea plonked the scaly behemoth down in San Francisco beside the Bay Bridge, but upon closer inspection it doesn't look like the residents of San Francisco actually have anything to worry about. Instead of the real Godzilla—who you should fear and respect—this is just a giant toy. And while he does seem to have posable limbs, he doesn't get to use them to smash cities or other monsters. He just stands there stoically. What a relief. Now all we need is a giant toy Mothra to fly around inside.
>> Oh! A giant, flying Mothra could be very cool. Someone should definitely do it! In any case, if you want the Godzilla mod, you'll have to go to Nexus Mods.

Fall Guys adding anti-cheat 'in the next couple of weeks'
https://www.pcgamer.com/fall-guys-adding-anti-cheat-in-the-next-couple-of-weeks/
I only play Fall Guys once every few days, and usually only for one or two matches at a time, but I still see a ton of cheaters in Mediatonic's battle royale. If I had to estimate, I'd say there's a cheater in about one of four matches I play, and that's honestly part of the reason I don't play it so often. I'm not great at Fall Guys anyway, so it sucks even more to make it to the final round and see some cheating bean snatch the crown.

Colin Kaepernick returns in Madden NFL 21 as the highest-rated free-agent QB in the game
https://www.pcgamer.com/colin-kaepernick-returns-in-madden-nfl-21-as-the-highest-rated-free-agent-qb-in-the-game/
NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick gained notoriety during the 2016 season for kneeling during the US national anthem to protest police brutality. Probably not coincidentally, he's been an unsigned free agent since the end of that season, too.
He's also been absent from the Madden NFL series since 2017, but as of today that's no longer the case: Kaepernick is now available as a free agent for new franchises in Madden NFL 21's Franchise Mode, and is in fact that highest-rated free agent quarterback in the game.

Sid Meier doubts he could make Civilization today, or that he'd even play it if he did
https://www.pcgamer.com/sid-meier-doubts-he-could-make-civilization-today-or-that-hed-even-play-if-it-he-did/
Sid Meier has made a lot of great games over the years, but his defining masterwork has to be Sid Meier's Civilization. (Although, fun bit of trivia, it was not the first game to include his name in the title: That honor goes to Sid Meier's Pirates!) Released in 1991, Civilization was a tremendously influential game that made epoch-spanning strategy accessible to the masses and launched a hugely successful series that continues to flourish.

Be a pig farmer who gets rid of bodies for the mob in the first-person conversation game Adios
https://www.pcgamer.com/be-a-pig-farmer-who-gets-rid-of-bodies-for-the-mob-in-the-first-person-conversation-game-adios/
Some games hook me immediately with nothing more than the power of their premise. Adios, announced earlier today, is one such game. It's the tale of a hitman with a problem, and an unusual twist: You are not the hitman. You are a pig farmer.

After a bug forced their removal, vehicles have returned to Call of Duty: Warzone
https://www.pcgamer.com/after-a-bug-necessitated-their-removal-vehicles-have-returned-to-call-of-duty-warzone/
On September 6, Infinity Ward rolled out a playlist update that removed all vehicles from Call of Duty: Warzone in response to a bug that crashed the server and booted players back to the lobby if someone took a vehicle beyond the bounds of the map. (...) But now a new playlist update has brought Warzone's vehicles back. It also cycles out Plunder: Blood Money and King Slayer Trios, while adding Plunder Trios. Which you'll be able to play while being murdered, once again, by people in helicopters.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent almost featured guns and Jesus
https://www.pcgamer.com/amnesia-the-dark-descent-almost-featured-guns-and-jesus/
Amnesia: The Dark Descent launched a decade ago, helping to define both modern survival horror and the YouTube genre of endlessly shrieking while playing a game. To mark the anniversary, developer Frictional Games has shared "lesser known facts" about it, teasing a slightly different vision of Amnesia.
