I agree if someone has the money and doesn't play games with their friends on Xbox it's better to go with a PC over the Series X/S. I have a friend who plays on Xbox and the cost is the main obstacle to him getting a PC. If that wasn't an obstacle he would likely switch I think.

Understandable. I mean, if I have nothing more than $499 to spend on an Xbox tied ecosystem, then surely I would get an Xbox. Hel, if I don't have that I will just go with the XSS which could've anywhere between $299 - $349.

I guess what I am really saying, is that MS making all their software available on day 1 on another platform (PC) just gives people a reason to not have to buy an Xbox period. And at the end of the day thats what it comes down to, MS is pretty much guaranteeing that it will never be the better selling console, and if we consider the majority of console buyers as budget-minded buyers, then that's an entire market they are relinquishing to sony. Cause people buy what their friends have and game on that platform. Why do you think all a sudden MS has been very pro-cross-play of late?

I think the impact of all Xbox games going to PC isn't that big on Xbox sales since PC's are out of many consumers price range but a 299 or even 199 console during a sale isn't. If Sony did the same thing with PC I think they'd only lose out on maybe a few million PS5 sales while making a lot of money from PC gamers buying their games and that amount of money could maybe be worth losing out on that few million. The higher ups at Sony seem to think it's worth going at least partially in that direction.
