I got my Switch for Christmas the year, but I'd have been fine buying it at launch. I was busy moving and didn't have the time or extra money.

Each to their own I guess. So far there has never been a console that I've considered even close to being worth getting at launch. We got the Switch for last Christmas as well, and I never felt the need to get it any earlier.
