I knew the parody, but having not seen the original here in Luxembourg, I didn't know their music choice was deliberate, too.
I can also understand why people hated it's minimum specs. Win 3.x even ran on an 8088 with 8MB of HDD (3.1x needed a 286 and 30MB, plus 512 KB RAM).Compare that to Win95, which needed a 386 DX with 50 MB HDD and 4 MB RAM. In short, it disqualified almost all PCs built before 1993 since it took until then to make the 386DX cheap enough for consumers (in 1993 AMD releases their 486, which dropped the value of their 386DX considerably) and more importantly OEMs to choose it over the cheaper SX variant in their builds. Plus, HDD and RAM came at a premium back then (Our AM486 DX-40 came with just 100MB HDD in 1993, though it did have a whooping 16MB of RAM), so 50MB took up a sizeable amount of the total space back then.
