It's when you get a step or two behind when it becomes a big problem, as you experienced. Being a little bit ahead allows you just enough time to make change, without having to slam on the brakes. Too many people in recent years braking hard because they're way behind, whether they know it or not, cycling or not. FS 2020, yes yes. "Why do we fall Bruce? So we can learn to pick ourselves back up." Glad to hear it didn't rattle your cage too much and that you're not letting it hold you back from continuing. After a little R and R surely. Cycling has certainly grown, or more people are using it to stay active anyway. I was much more into it 15-20 years ago when it wasn't nearly as popular, though my friends and I made great use of the local trails back then, mostly all to ourselves. I saw an ad for Yamaha e-bikes the other day on YouTube. Pretty cool looking and interesting. A few scrapes of pain keeps the covid away? |
Keeps the immune system primed!
I'm not rattled cause uhm it's my 4th contact encounter with a car already, starting at 12 years old. When I got to Canada back in '02 there weren't many cyclists at all, nowadays you see plenty. Plus Covid-19 has made it quite busy on the trails. Repetition and familiarity is the biggest factor that lead to zoning out. Got to switch it up and not take the same way back too often. Plenty choice here. For the past 10 years I've been keeping a map of every road I've cycled on, TDU style, got to fill in the entire map haha.
Exploration and cycling, my primary interests combined. Favorite area atm is between Ayr, Wolverton and Innerkip. Very pretty, rolling hills, varied and quiet. And the stop signs point the right way :)
But indeed, our biggest problem atm is worrying too far ahead. We should just sign up the kids for school, then assess the day off whether to actually bring them to the school or not. Can't predict the future, so stop trying.
I guess we just have to live with Covid-19, it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
No big issues atm, but still smoldering, the fire refuses to go out completely.
