The reason is that there is a good number of people that believe Series X will be cheaper, you can see it in this and other threads. So I created the thread and pool to see how many agreed with that notion. Particularly I don't think MS will want to get this much of a loss on each console to be cheaper than discless PS5. But that announcement from MS saying they won't be beat in power or price is still used by many.
