Yes I understand the frustration of not getting a refund, Nintendo needs to be better in this department. But it's also quite obvious it doesnt support online play. Click on the game and you see that.
In the end, it's your decision if you want to buy more Nintendo or not, but taking this decision based on your own misunderstanding is a really weird one.
