You can make alternatives to Apple for mobiles too. Alternatives already exist even.

Apple don't have a monopoly. They have a monopoly on their own product (just like Amazon have a monopoly on Amazon.com or Gamestop have a monopoly in Gamestop stores), but that's all.

Apple has a monopoly on ios no matter how you feel about that. And thats the case epic makes, apple has a forced monopoly on ios while google has a natural on android because the smartphone manufacturers can add their own store like samsung and wahway

Apple doesn't even have the best products in their respective industries.  They built a solid Iphone and solid macbooks that are easy to use for people of all ages, and relatively safe from viruses.  Nokia once owned market on phones, Motorola dominated for a little bit with the Razor,  Blakcberry lead the way for a few years, and Iphone has dominated for awhile now.  There is no reason another phone be it Android or someone else can't take over.  When Nintendo was restrictive and charged high licensing fees in the 80's 3rd parties switched when a viable alternative was available in the PS1.  The macbook I bought in 2013 is still working like the day I bought it, while I went through 3 pc laptops in a similar time frame before 2013.  The market decides if a product is worth purchasing and people have short memories and will turn on Apple in an instance if they rest on their laurels and allow another to beat them with products.  Amazon on the other hand I would put in monopoly territory.  Not because of Amazon.com they built that from scratch and I consider that fair game, but with all the other industries they are trying to kill off.  Buying up Whole Foods, Pets stores, trucking logistics companies, Amazon prime to compete with Netflix, working with the Kiddle and stealing the design, buying up electric truck manufactures so other trucking companies can't buy those puts them into Monopoly territory where they are going to single handily kill off tens of thousands of companies.
