No. It's three names, the genus, species, and subspecies. In the case of the Western lowland gorilla, all three are identical. This isn't uncommon, for example: the red fox also has the genus, species, and subspecies name as "Vulpes" or "Vulpes Vulpes Vulpes"

Your dog would be Canis Lupis Familiaris.

The full name of the Western Lowland gorilla would be Animalia chordata mammalia primata haplorhini simiiformes hominidae homininae gorilla gorilla gorilla
