I’ve perused a few English adult games (as I like nudity and sex a lot), and I really don’t like what I see.

1. It seems like 90% of the recent adventure games are incest or faux incest which basically smears shit on the game.
2. Anime style art is really bad compared to some of the other art.
3. Otherwise, REALLY poor design: that is they have really random losing conditions (Date Ariane style games).

While these are the popular categories for adult games, I can’t see any of these going mainstream. None of these things will make for a popular game in Western countries (except Southern US where incest is very popular, and I am not just exaggerating either, look up Crusader Kings 2 YouTube videos, in the Southern US it is known as “incest simulator”) where much of the money is going to be.

In order to be mainstream, it will probably be mostly open world dating simulator. The main character will have a lot of freedom. I can see multiple jobs, a University campus with frat houses and sororities, things like shopping malls, cinemas, and make out parks, that sort of thing. There will likely be VERY heavy romantic writing. And I am not sure it would be so much like The Witcher or Xenoblade, but maybe more like Breath of the Wild where the character can go all over the place and have a lot of options. Also, a Breath of the Wild style open world would’ve heavily expandable, which means new chapters and options for purchasing from a variety of expansions, and new free content with each update can be a thing. While people complain about Paradox Games’s style of updates in theory, in practice it worked extraordinarily well for multiple games: essentially, free content, and then a few other things you can get by purchasing the premium - or you can get it on sale later for like 80% off.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
