Well you can say the same thing for Senran Kagura and DOA Xtreme. They dont have sex with anyone either and posing is not their only reason of being there. I dont think there are a more sexualized character than Bayonetta. Even to perform her big move requires her to reach climax ffs...

Never played Senren Kagura, but based on the trailer... We've got...

Girls dancing in bikinis for no clear purpose, absurd jiggle physics, an "upgraded dressing room" where you can choose to put characters in poses like "power butt" and power cleavage, dress them with things like "sexy sweater" and lingirie, there's jiggle physics on completely static images, characters twice pull objects from between their breasts, by my count 13 extreme cleavage close ups, and about as much of the trailer is spend on the fact that you can pose the girls to your liking as they do on the actual gameplay. Basically every character is dressed in a skimpy outfit with comically oversized breasts.

Compare that to Bayonetta where the trailer explains the backstory, shows some gameplay, and really doesn't showcase any sexuality.

Basically... In Senren Kagura women being sexy (or whatever that audience thinks is sexy) is the entire point of the game's existence. Maybe they're not literally only there to be sexy (although there is a mode where they literally do do nothing but pose), but that's far and away their primary purpose (why else would there be jiggle physics in an image where the character is NOT MOVING).

Bayonetta is an actual character with motivations and a purpose, starring in a game that is first and foremost designed to be a kickass action game. Her being a flirtatious tease adds flavor to the game, and is used somewhat sparingly, or at least WAAAAAAY more sparingly then Senren Kagura... which again, has 13 cleavage close ups just in the trailer.

There's a clear difference here. I can't see Nintendo publishing anything like that.

Nintendo was the only one who didnt censor the latest DOA Extreme on the Switch. Sony did on the PS4. I also think you are confusing sex objects with sexualizing. Bayonetta is not a sex object, but her whole character is based around sex. From her dominatrix look and personality to her poses and dances.
