I don't hope the WB deal falls through, Microsoft is our only hope of WB Interactive not being sold to one of the other 4 shitty publishers who are reportedly interested; EA, Activision, Take-Two, and Tencent. All 4 of them are some of the worst culprits in the gaming industry when it comes to microtransactions, especially randomized microtransactions. EA, Acti, and Take-Two also have long histories of closing owned studios if they start to underperform even a little bit. Then you have Tencent who is just shitty in so many other ways, from their close ties to the Chinese Communist Party (with accusations of them using the DRM in their games to gather info about people to give to the CCP), to the fact that they have forced many of the studios they have already acquired to make shitty cash-in spinoff games.

I just don't see the merit in throwing out 2-4B or whatever it is now on studios that purely rely on licenced IP minus Neverealm that will all be likely on a Multiplatform schedule for the next year or 2 at least and it wouldn't surprise me if the bigger licenced IP have a multiplatform clause on them if Microsoft close th deal anyway.

As far as I'm concerned Microsoft should be looking at AA studios they can nature into top quality studios that hardly cost a thing to acquire just look at Deck 13 purchased for $7m as a AA studio with potential if they get funding and the ability to grow, I'd love to see a dozen of these scale purchases over a super expensive publisher deal.

Thank you.

I'd say the same for buying timed exclusivity of existing franchises. Either pay this money to aquire developers or buy the whole franchise, like with Ori. Ending up with Mass Effect or Titanfall wouldn't help on the long run. If Microsoft were to get the developers behind them before EA or at least acquired the rights for those franchises  it would've been a totally different story by now.
