I think it's likely that they have some big guns ready, or nearly ready, for the holidays but are waiting to see what Sony and Microsoft are planning.
Imagine botw 2 coming out this holiday to compete with the new consoles in terms of media coverage/public visibility.
This could be wishful thinking on my part, but I also think it would be a good strategy to take some of Sony and Microsoft's thunder.
