GN has Confirmed: 12-Pin Connectors For Ampere, Likely OEM Focus

https://www.gamersnexus.net/news-pc/3605-hw-news-nvidia-rtx-3080-12-pin-cable-ddr5-spec-intel-i9-10850k

Alright maybe Nvidia is crazy but as you shouldn't need a new PSU according to the report and the partner cards shouldn't come with the 12 pin, maybe they are half a step crazy? But if it's OEM focused, then it won't be care worthy either way... I am willing to believe GN more so than a few other sources since their confirmations have been fairly on point.

What worries me from this connector is: why the hell does Nvidia want a 600W capable connector?!

Disclaimer: I'm quite sure that it's the extra amperage what Nvidia is going after, but it's still shocking.

Well, the 3090 is rumored to pull 400W already, so just imagine what a Titan of full Ampere will be pulling...

LG's 144Hz 27-inch 4K IPS gaming monitor is now available

https://www.engadget.com/lg-4k-ips-ultra-gear-gaming-monitor-104539945.html

"The company touts the model as the “world’s first 4K IPS 1ms GtG monitor,” since the 1ms GtG model it succeeds doesn’t have 4K resolution. Its spec sheet also lists a 144Hz refresh rate, DisplayHDR 600 support and 2 HDMI ports. It sadly doesn’t come with a USB-C port, but it does feature NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility" " it’ll set you back at least $800"

Slowly getting there loll

That monitor looks good, and it's a Freesync Premium monitor that makes it compatible with G-Sync.

My only concern is that 4K at 27" may be a very high pixel density. But then again, I'm typing that on a 25" 1440p so...

I would have been worried several years ago (still remember how utterly unreadable 1600x1200 on our 17" CRT was), but since UI scaling is a thing now, it should be okay. Plus, not running in native resolution shouldn't make that much of an effect visually with such a high pixel density...

For the record, this is set to become my future monitor, should be amply enough for my needs: https://www.alternate.de/LG/27GL850-B-Gaming-Monitor/html/product/1564507?
