Combat looked terrible every time they showed it imho and reviewers talking about how generic the open world design is confirms a wait on sale or PS5 port for me. I have like six open world games in my backlog already, I am wore out on them.

Curious as to why you're willing to take the reviewers' word for the open world being generic but completely and conveniently ignore their word on how amazing the combat is? The combat has been receiving universal praise. You don't have to do much research, just look at the OP for reviews' snippets.

It's funny how so many of you, who obviously don't game mainly, if ever, on their PS4, are here just to tell us what Sucker Punch metacritic score ceiling is and then kindly highlight (or cherry pick) all the negatives that the vast majority of open world games suffer from. Oh well, I blame Phil, not much exclusives-centered discussions can be had on the Xbox forums I am afraid, so you'll have chime in here I suppose.

In the meantime, the rest of us will enjoy playing Mitsurugi in vastly bigger stages than those offered in Soul Calibur

When the sword fighting is this good, what else do you need?

This isn't a review, just an entire article on theverge praising the combat.
