A thread to share your favourite songs in the new wave genre and its non-rock offshoots which have been hitting the pop charts more and more, harder and harder.

Blinding Lights by Canadian artist The Weeknd is a 2020 Smash hit song, and the first to exceed 10 weeks at #1 on the German charts. It also stayed at number 1 for 8 weeks in the UK, and at 22 weeks is 10th longest song in history to remain in the top 10 (joining the ranks of perennial tunes by Mariah Carey, Frankie Laine, and Doris Day, and beating out the Beatles on that metric, whose song She Loves You managed to hold in the top 10 for 21 weeks).
