Its gets them some PR, maybe it got them first Dibs on a demo on their platform. It probably will get them minor pub as well. Its a nice move since their competitor do not get that free pub and helps in gamers mind share. When you go to battle every move helps even if you already have the lead. Nothing like dismissing your competition and getting blindsided. Keep the gas going.
