The main reason PS4/XboxOne will remain low in stock is the next gen. Having your consoles get popular again some months before you will try to sell a new one double the price is no good. This could maybe affect the early days of next gens. Maybe not launch since fans will rush to them but seems like they could have waited another year because of corona virus.
