It definitely can. OTOH, the game played like shit (H5) several times through this gen and I just ran into it: 48 hours and a banhammer did not reset back to the initial waiting period, acting as if only an hour had passed since my last quit TWO DAYS AGO. It didn't do that before and would just reset itself when I didn't play it.
