Top 30
NSW - 25 PS4 - 5
|
Breakdown is
NSW 25 - 10 third party
PS4 5 - 3 third party
This week NSW has 77% of third party games in the top 30. Last week they had 80%. People have been telling me for years that Playstation wll get most of the Japanese third parties, but I'm just not seeing it. In Japan it makes the most business sense for a third party dev to put their game on the Switch. It has the largest install base and it's growing faster than Nintendo can keep up with.
Third party domination is Switch's final trick. One day, years from now, they will throttle Switch first party development to prepare for their next system. What games will fill in the gaps in the top 30 when that happens? Switch third party games. When a system is successful, third party devs keep making games for it for a few years even when first party development has moved on.
