In reading this thread, I have seen a couple of people mention speak almost reverently of NPD.
Remember, they don't track Wal-Mart or Toys R Us. Thus, it very well could be that VGC is closer to reality and that it NPD is undertracking. (If you read Patcher's comments last month after Wii Fit's numbers, he hints at this).
