There were no rules that kept people away, the numbers just weren’t there compared to twitch. Some people were able to find a good sized audience in one niche or another but the numbers were always tiny in comparison. If you’re a successful streamer, unless MS paid you tons of money, there was no reason to use Mixer over twitch.

I preferred Mixer because the quality is much better, there are zero ads, and it’s smaller. You get a better sense of community. My most watched game on Mixer might have 600 total people watching across all channels streaming it. On twitch there are people playing it that each get thousands of viewers.
