I would like to think that these kinds of people are a vocal minority... but I'm starting to think that generally people are more hateful in general than I previously suspected, and things like comments sections are a reflection of what people are really like.

People behind those comments can be hatefull,ignorant,or just a bit stupid,not serious at all about what they say,seeking belonging or attention.

I come from a place thinking whole humanity was rotten,but i'm glad i do not need to go there again as it was not healthy and such a mindset can be tricky and slowly corrupting ones being.(In my case that was ofcourse,i do not speak for others)
