The reason Japanese PS fans/gamer have to watch the Japanese version of PS5 games reveal event one day after US reveal is, because Sony are not seeing a big prospect of console in Japan anymore.
This was explained by Japanese industrial/sales and market analyst "Dr Serkan Toto " consultant at en-Kantan.co.jp. He said Japanese video game console market is just a shadow of its former self.
He further explained that
"About 70 cents of every dollar made in gaming in Japan now flows to mobile. Hence Sony’s efforts to “optimize” timing for the west."
