Played around 10 hours this weekend and I can finally experience what everybody what raving about. This is a great RPG, I'm having tons of fun.
I've just reached the Gaur Plains and while I had known the location from the Smash Bros. stage, it's much more impressive when you see it in game. Like recommended I've activated Expert mode, I'm now level 16 and the enemies on the plains are about that level too and I pretty much crush them. I have 5 levels "in the bank" so I'm glad I went with Expert mode since I'd be way too powerful at level 21.
I did have to use my extra levels a few times (Unique Caterpile in the caves, the Nopon challenge thing) but I've adjusted back down right after dealing with those situations.
