A lot of third parties in Japan take a very short-sighted approach, and it's not a good idea not to let them sell for a long time.Konami, Namco, Sega, etc. have some very attractive past series, but they can't capitalize on them in the slightest.
I think that companies like Nintendo and Capcom are doing well today because they've been nurturing their IP for a long time.
