I think it must be pretty sad to be able to definitively state what the best band is or what the best album is. I know for me my collection looks different every time I look at it. Sometimes I want to go back and listen to all my Def Leppard cds over again; but other times they make me want to puke and I'm more likely to grab a little Mercury Rev. Sometimes I just want to hear George Winston play Linus and Lucy.
My point is that music is so personal and subjective and really depends where you are in life and where you are that day, that moment.
So to be able to definitively say what your favorite band or album is would be to say that you have become stagnant and refuse to grow...sad.
