Yup, easily its the difference between the newest technology 2006 and upgraded technology from 2000. 6 times the memory, a GPU with 32 shader pipelines vs. no shader at all, and a CPU with 7 cores with 3GHZ tact vs. one core with 730MHZ. But this discussion has been done to no end so I don't want to reanimate it. Performance comparisons between different architectures is notoriously hard but the order of magnitude is definitely correct.
