Linus from Linus Tech Tips spent about 10 minutes trashing PS5's SSD and Tim Sweeny for being a "sell-out". I don't understand the denial and right out the refusal to engage with the information Mark Cerny spent literally an hour presenting in the Deep Dive video. It's fine if you don't want to read, watch or educate yourself on what SONY did differently, but it's not on the rest of us to spoon feed you the differences when you're obviously not looking for an honest exchange.
Those PC numbers are theoretical, and are from drive into kernel memory. From there, it's a slow and circuitous journey through software decompression to GPU driver swizzling into video memory where you can eventually use it. The PS5 path for this is several times more efficient.

I am not gonna buy a PS5, heck, I don't have a PS4, but it's easy to see that this SSD is the result of serious collaborations between the hardware maker and the developers, and it benefits literally everyone, I don't get why some want it oh so badly to be "smoke & mirrors" or some shady deal between Epic and SONY....
