Correct it doesn't. PCI-E 3.0 was unusually long in it's life cycle though.

PCI-E 5.0 is probably not that far away... And that will probably offer 128GB/s of bandwidth... For SSD's that typically top out at 4x PCI-E lanes that would be 32GB/s.
