I'll take Dreamcast over PS2 though, if mostly cos I prefer Sega as a company, and have more of an emotional attachment despite not owning a DC during its actual lifespan. DC represents the end of an era I cherish while for me PS2 represents an era where gaming as a whole lost some of its sparkle. So I can safely say Xbox > DC > PS2 in my reckoning but I have trouble placing the Gamecube, as it had some great games but disappointed me a lot too. If there is one aspect where DC does beat Xbox for me though its the box itself; while the Xbox's massive, imposing bulk does have a certain robust charm and screams power, the DC's slim chassis is overall more appealing to look at. |
RE4 was part of the Capcom 5 deal with Nintendo. It wasn't even supposed to appear on PS2. Mikami was pretty pissed off about it. He wanted to get RE away from Sony as he hated PS2 development and looked at Xbox and Gamecube. Nintendo had the better name and a presence in Japan and the west and made a deal as part of the Capcom 5.
