My current work laptop is already 6 years old and I fear the HDD or other parts could crap out at any moment. (It's become a bit slow, but runs fine, though.)

For several reasons a desktop is out of the questions, so I'll go for a laptop again.

First I was thinking about getting this one from Fujitsu (mostly because of the brand's good reputation for reliable hardware):

http://www.fmworld.net/fmv/ah/1910/spec/ (AH77/D3)

Core i7-9750H
Intel UHD Graphics 630
8GB RAM
256GB SSD (PCIe)
1TB HDD (Serial ATA, 5400RPM)

But then I checked out Mouse Computer who make BTO hardware. For a similar price (a little lower) I can get this one:

https://www.mouse-jp.co.jp/abest/kakakucom/list.html?a=m-Book%20K700SN-M2SH2-KK-B

Core i7-9750H
GeForce MX250 2GB
16GB RAM
512GB NVM Express SSD (M.2 PCI Express)
2TB HDD (specs not disclosed on the shop page)

It's probably a no-brainer for most, but what do you think?

The Fujitsu has a better screen, but most of the time I use an external 1440p screen anyway, so it doesn't matter too much. From experience, Fujitsu laptops are very reliable. Does any member living in Japan have experience with Mouse Computer and can recommend them? Twice the RAM and storage for almost the same price seems good, but I'm still hesitating.

I'll use it mostly for office work (opening and editing several big Excel/Word/Powerpoint files and PDFs at the same time) and sometimes for ripping and compressing DVDs and the like. And I hate fan noise, so I need it to be quiet most of the time. (One reason why I don't want a desktop.)

add: What I need:

  • SSD and HDD
  • MS Office Home and Business 2019
  • Quiet operation

Additional questions: I don't really plan on playing games on it, but if I were, would let's say 5-10 year old games run on those? (I don't really care about resolution and effects etc.)

What kind of emulators could those machines run? (Up to what generation/console?)

Thanks in advance for any responses and advice.
