Well, clearly I'll win my bet, but nevertheless I don't see anything wrong with these scans. They are artificially enlarged to fit in Nintendo Power (creating more aliasing) and even with that the actual graphics (ignoring the distortion caused by the scan) are reasonably good... the game has very little detail in the environments on the HD systems as well.
Given that the Wii version is being made by Dimps, the only good Sonic developer, and the 360 and PS3 versions by Sonic Team, one of the worst development teams in existence, I'm not too worried. Especially since the Wii version is supposed to have much more focus on 2D gameplay than its HD counterpart.
