Games are just more expensive to make.Books only really need 1 person to write it, movies while do need a crew, usually lasts between 1 or 2 years to make(and its cost is usually because of high paying actors), etc....
Hopefully consoles end up being cheaper and all, and the cost of individual games go down rather quickly for most cases, but I think its just the reality of the industry.
