The media's praising Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg for donating $25 million towards fighting the virus, despite that being more like $20 for them.

We're in the middle of a fucking pandemic and that's ALL they're giving us? Cheapskate parasites.

That asshole gates was researching and banging on about the introduction of a coronovirus to society just like this with a similar death toll, 65 million if I remember correctly, less than one month before the outbreak. He probably spent more on thar than his donation here.

No one listened to him.

"So we can have tools, but those tools need to be put into a overall global health system."

Key points: "We need preparedness"

"The best lessons on how to get to preparedness, is again, taken from what we do for war.
For soldiers we have full time, always ready to go,... we have reserves, that can easily scale up to large numbers. Nato has a mobile unit, that can actually deploy very rapidly, and nato does alot of wargames, to constantly check if people are well trained, do they understand about fuel and logistics, are they all on the same radio frequenzy, so that they are absolutely ready to go. So those are the kinds of things we need, to deal with a epidemic."

What are the key peices?

1) Strengthen health systems (everywhere, but mostly in poor countries) (this is where you see the outbreak very early on)
2) we need a medical reserve corps (lots of people who got the training, background, ready to go with expertise)
3) Pair medical & military (move around fast, do logisitics, secure areas/people)
4) Run simulated "germ games"
5) lots of advance R&D (spend more $$ on research, build more labs, researching vaccines and diagnostics)

What does this cost?

"I dont have a exact budget, but Im sure its very modest.
Compaired to the potential harm."
