DX 10 was a huge step up from DX9. But since the consoles only could handle DX9, they only used DX10 as an additional layer above DX9 instead of programming for it from the start. That's why DX10 seemed so horrendous, it had the worst possible timing to launch.

Let's hope this doesn't reproduce this time again and that the RDNA2 in the next gen consoles can fully handle DX12U

My biggest gripe from all this, is that it's being made in mind with the RTX series, and not anything before that line. The other issue is that if I buy a 3000 series, and DX "ultimiteru" edition, once again, doesn't do a stellar job than DX 11, I'm going to be asking "why did I buy this game, why did I buy this card?", because of one poorly made decision from MS.

DX12 just feels like the ultimate crap-shoot for me since it's inception. It hasn't benefited me in any way, and thus far I've still stuck with DX11. I don't really want to just go for the 3000 series, only to find that MS fudges DX 12 ultimate, I'm not up for that ride all over again. It has to absolutely and fully work this time, no mistakes, no fuck ups, trillion dollar company (you have no idea how annoyed I get at a company having that much money, and still fucking things up software side, especially with OS updates and security flaws).
