Seven years ago, development of the PS5 started. Five years ago, the principle setup was decided: Lower cu count, higher frequencies, incorporate (as much as possible) stuff developers wanted. At no time during this process has Sony/Cerny cared about what MS was doing.

It is interesting to watch the drama queens five years later with their idiotic "Last minute changes because 12TF" argument. Fortunately, the people that buy consoles are not the drama queens, it's moms and dads most of which have no idea what a TFlop is but know how a price tag looks like. Sure MS will win over some customers with their "TFTFTFTF" yelling (notice any similarities with "TTVTVTVSportsTVTV"?) but they come from a distant third place.

OTOH, if Lockhart is true, then they win. There's a reason Portables sell better 8 times out of 10. The Switch sold as it did because it could be both
