I think it's more a matter of Nintendo no longer wanting to announce games that they're not 100% sure will release in the next 6-12 months. They've had several big game announcements in the past that ended up being extremely premature in terms of how far out they were (i.e. Animal Crossing, Bayo 3, BOTW 2, Prime 4, etc), so I think they're trying to avoid that going forward. I'm guessing they were probably getting ready to announce a lot of this year's slate over the past month, but then corona hit Japan hard and now the whole world, so that could very well have thrown their plans off. I highly doubt they don't have much of anything for this year to show, surely they couldn't be that stupid with how successful the Switch has been and no longer having two platforms to develop for.
