They kind of need the specs. With the rise in 4k TV's, they need all the power they can get. Even if they use checkerboard rendering to upscale from 2k.

Pretty sure these next gen console aren't going to be aiming for native 4k. We might see some of the cross gen games in 4k, but in the end developers will pick overall visual fidelity over framerate/resolution, and we will see 30fps/1440p (maybe even 1080p) for most games.
