Here's some sobering news, the number of active cases is rising again
Tomorrow there will be more than 100K detected cases. Deaths are already over 3,300
For March 5th:
769 new cases and 41 new deaths in Italy, which becomes the country with the largest daily increase in cases and deaths in the world. [source]
Among the 3,296 active cases, 1,790 (54%) are hospitalized, 331 of which (representing 11% of active cases) are in intensive care.
Among the 562 closed cases, 414 (74%) have recovered, 148 (26%) have died.
And every day new cases are detected from people coming back from Italy.
But still only a travel advisory for Wuhan and Iran over here...
Ah they updated it to refer to a detailed page, for Italy: Exercise normal security precautions (with regional advisories)
It is important for all travellers to monitor their health when they return to Canada. While abroad, you may have come in contact with the novel coronavirus. PHAC asks that you monitor your health for fever, cough and difficulty breathing for 14 days after you arrive in Canada. If you have these symptoms, call the public health authority in the province or territory you are in to inform them. They will provide advice on what you should do.
Weak response until it gets out of hand. That's just human nature I guess.
