which ever way you look at it. circa 2007 was the begining of the best generation ever. all the games u play now are just bigger and better versions of games that the 7th gen put out, vgchartz was a thriving place back then some of the users were wild lol gotta miss Rock_on2008

This. Pretty explains my initial disappointment with the 8th gen and why I find so much value in backwards compatibility. At any given moment you can find me replaying my 7th gen library because that's when they "finally got everything right". Resolution, stable frame rates, game DVR, etc. are nice but when it comes to just playing a good game (with good online) with good hardware and features that don't feel dated, it's gonna be tough top gen 7.

*Edit* hell, look at my sig! Pretty much every XBO game I've played is either a 7th gen game or a 7th gen game remade on 8th gen hardware!

Yeah this gen always kinda felt like Gen 7.5 to me, which isn't an entirely bad thing as I did love Gen 7, but it never wowed me the way previous generations did. Don't get me wrong, there are some beautiful looking games on PS4/Xbone/Switch, and they're clearly technically superior to last gen, but I feel like the best of PS3/360 can still hold their own today.
