Here's my take. Xbox and Playstation system's biggest sellers and biggest drivers are the 3rd party games while 1st party takes a backseat. Nintendo systems are the complete opposite, where 1st party are the main drivers and 3rd party takes a backseat. Sony published games are still not Nintendo level, and it's not close. Some Sony games do sell millions upon millions but still don't come close to the amount of best sellers Nintendo has. What's really impressive is that most Nintendo games retain their $50-$60 price tag for years whereas Sony drops their games to $20-$40 after a few months. Part of the reason may be what I stated earlier about Playstation games are dominated by 3rd party sales, so Sony has to compete with those games since they drop in price fast also.
