In terms of volume, 2019 was clearly the best year for the system.
Great third party support, great first party releases - but with a pacing that left a lot to desire. First half was quite dire, second half was STACKED.

But damn, 2017 had so many highs it's hard to look past that.
BotW, SMO, XC2, MK8DX, Splatoon 2, Mario x Rabbids is a whole slew of quality exclusives there. A few of those are on my all time top list.

2018 was a great year for anyone not having a Wii U. Lots of great games.. but I pretty much played all of them so it was a bit of a slug.. Octopath Traveller sticks out for me. Love that game. Smash is nice and all.. but I'm no hardcore smash fan so I'm pretty done with that.

Currently in the longest draught in the Switch lifespan in terms of new releases.. not in to Pokemon, not in to Animal Crossing.. I havnt bought a single first party game since Luigis Mansion 3 and it looks like it might be until May before there's a new release for the Switch. A direct showing Nintendos plan for the next 6 months would be nice.
