It's the fallout of fake news and people believing we have everything under control or it won't happen to them that might spiral this out of control. It's not so much that the disease will cripple humanity, it's mostly the reaction, disbelief, unwillingness to prepare to mitigate the effects, then panic, that will do the most harm. Meanwhile the commercials for cheap holiday destinations are still happily playing while McDs is advertising family night!
