Nobody wants anything new. It's the convenience of the new tech that ends gaining the public acceptance as the times passes and the new tech gets better.

Depends on the game. For a real world flight sim, yes. Always up to date, 2 petabytes of real world data to explore, see everyone else flying around or even all real world traffic included. (But no streaming plans yet for ms flight sim)

For VR, definitely not. Every bit of latency and stability counts. Neither for racing, the average latency might be ok in the future or even now but any little lag spike will screw you up.

Adventure / walking sims / puzzle games, Why not.

I like these two posts the best of what I’ve read in the forum.

In short, convenience/low pain is what makes things work. It’s why Netflix has been so successful, it’s why sales music CDs generally only go to hipsters and old people (mainly the really old baby boomers and the generation just above them that they don’t make music for anymore).

With streaming games, certain experiences won’t be ideal for it until the tech catches up, but like it did for music/film, it will for gaming.
