It was good, but not as strong as a gamecube, and cartridges sometimes didn't work you had to blow inside the cartridge or system.

Technically, that never did anything unless your cartridge or system were exceptionally dusty.  That became a thing because the instructions specifically said NOT to do that because you could introduce saliva to the pins and people being people did the opposite because whatever.  The real problem was simply all the pins themselves not having adequate contact. Reinserting the cartridge itself was the fix.

But you probably knew that and was just joking and I completely ran with it.

No not at all, maybe you didn't have one, I did have one for years and even reinserting would take a few times, it was bad hardware, period. It should have worked 100% in the first cartridge insertion, and I was not the only one with the issue, most my friends had the same issue, which was not made a big deal because back then we didn't have internet to complain.

I didn't even knew the instructions said anything like that, I don't remember ever reading the instructions for any of my systems, and I've had it all. 18 home consoles and 10 portables. Never once did I even open the instructions, who needs instructions? Connect a power cable to power and the other cable to TV.
