Not sure I'd go that far personally; it did look insanely, mind-blowingly good in 1998, but I personally found some of Rare's later N64 titles like Conker's Bad Fur Day to be the most graphically impressive of that gen.

I will agree that Conquer was. But at the time of their specific releases Ocarina was much more mind blowing, especially because of its size. In that regard MM was also a better looking game but it didn't have the same impact as Ocarina did in 1998. Probably owning a DC around that time (MMs release) sort of spoiled me a bit . That is why I added the "Perhaps". To be fair to conquer, I was never as mindblown by any game as I was the first time that I walked into Hyrule field and I witnessed as the sun set in real time.

Yeah, I got my N64 for Christmas of 1998 and it came with three games; Ocarina, Banjo Kazooie, and Starfox 64. As a kid with no understanding of how graphics worked I remember being most impressed by Banjo, which I do think has also aged better due to its cartoony art style. I think it was less the graphics that wowed me in Ocarina and more just the world design and scale.
