Just like straight people often join LGBT Pride events to show support, I think the LGBT community should join the next straight pride parade en masse.

You know, to show reciprocity and support.

I don't think the straight people who show support during LGBT pride events are the same people who would organize or attend a straight parade.

yyeeeeah....about that. We don't live in a world where 'straight pride' needs to be displayed. 'straight' has been the default at the cost of all other sexualities for so long that 'gay pride' is less about 'hey, we're here' and more about 'hey, we won't be oppressed anymore'. Straight people have never been oppressed.

white people have never been repressed.

Men have never been repressed.

At least on a historical, worldwide scale. I'm sure there are pockets of examples where this was the case, but they were such miniscule minorities that they're not worth discussing. Straight Pride Parades are not to say 'hey, I love being straight', the underlying message has always been and will always be 'I won't let you fags get more love than me'. It was never about equality, it was always about maintaining some prejudiced status quo.
