Nope it won't, but Sony can't just simply ignore the fact they have competitors. So the price they determine, based on cost and value for sure, must be competitive with whatever MS put on their systems and their specs.

And since there is about 8 months or more to release they will take another 3 months at least to keep refining the cost control and calculation and determining how much they can lose per HW and recoupe in PS+ games and others to finish the price they see as the one that will give then enough sale speed and profit.

@thread - with the passage of time I get to understand old people more and more when I see people that are very new to VGC and to analysis of sales or market claiming stuff like MS have infinite money so they will make billion of loses to be sure they undercut PS5 by a lot, or that Sony doesn't have money or intention to sell console for a small loss that can recoup with PS+ and royalties like they done on PS4, and all other funny stuff we see on every new gen start.
