Looks like we'll be seeing some adjustments soon then. No idea how much "Over 48m" it is, logically 48.99m would be the max, but this is Nintendo so not always logical. Regardless it seems pretty certain that it's not 50m.
Nintendo's very low shipment forecast for this quarter makes a lot more sense the more excess stock they have shipped. They're selling more than ever but have forecast their worst Q4 ever. They must have a lot more stock than sold.

Current VGC figures are 50m for Dec 31st, so 2m is the max and worst case scenario.
